Airline Travel
Australia’s domestic airlines generally need advance notice of travellers’ special needs. They ask that you advise of your assistance needs when booking your flight, and usually require you to book 5 or more days in advance.
Providing advance notice of your assistance needs will give you priority when boarding the plane, and a one-on-one safety briefing if you have a hearing or vision impairment.
Breaking down the barriers
Assisting rural families through difficult times, while they are caring for a loved one in a city hospital.
Justine assists with care packs of toiletries, clothing etc. She also offers a free Patient courtesy service where possible. In addition, she delivers some home cooked meals. Donations support her work in supporting rural families when visiting Brisbane for medical care.

Darling Downs Hospital Bus Service
A bus service is now in operation and available to patients with medical, or an allied health appointment at Toowoomba Hospital. The bus service operates each day Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays – both Toowoomba and Kingaroy show holidays).

Long distance rail travel
Some, but not all, of Queensland Rail’s long distance train services are accessible. Let the Queensland Rail Customer Contact Centre know of your requirements when booking your journey. If you use a wheelchair, walking frame, mobility scooter or other mobility aid, provide its dimensions.
