Centre for Supervised Distance Education – Kingaroy

This Centre for Supervised Distance Education has the same C2C curriculum as our state schools, but it is delivered via online lectures and self-paced with the support of a personal supervisor.

Prep-Year 12 Supervised State School of Distance Education. Is it for me and my child and could I be of assistance? In a time when online learning is growing at an exponential rate, some parents are looking at other alternatives to help educate their children. One such option is known as Distance Education.

Community Resource Unit

Community Resource Unit (CRU) exists to create and promote positive change so that people living with disability can belong to and actively contribute to social and economic life. Together with people living with disability, their families, allies in the human services sector and the community we build a movement for change.

CRU regularly holds events of varying sizes across Queensland. These are designed to strategically resource people and organisations as they strive to pursue better lives for people with disabilities. They range from small local gatherings to share local wisdom through to large conferences that attract people from around the country.

They offer a variety of workshops for people with disability and their family members as well as for support workers.

Companion Card

https://www.qld.gov.au/disability/out-and-about/subsidies-concessions-passes/companion-card

The National Companion Card Scheme brings together State and Territory Companion Card programs that enable eligible people with lifelong disability to participate at venues and activities without incurring the cost of a second ticket for their companion.

The cardholder presents their card at participating affiliate organisations to purchase a ticket or pay an entry fee and receive a ticket for their companion at no extra charge.

The National Card Scheme is comprised of Companion Card programs run by each State and Territory which issue the Companion Card i.e. there is no National Card. Under the scheme, a cardholder may use their card in any State or Territory when on holidays or travelling. If a cardholder permanently moves to reside in another state or territory then they will need to apply for a new Companion Card from the State/Territory in which they now reside.
